Hexonia is a simple strategy game where the player fights against enemy troops, build facilities near the city, research techs, expand the city to conquer the whole kingdom. If you have ever played “The Battle of Polytopia” game, then you can guess this package gameplay. The size of the game on iOS is 129 MB. On Android, Hexonia’s download size is around 53MB. And, you can play this offline. There is no active internet connection required to play the game. However, for the cloud back-up, you must link it with GameCenter or any other service. Getting Started

The very first step you have to do is choose a tribe. Hexonia game features over five tribes. All the tribes offer a unique guardian, tech facility, and an additional unit. At the beginning of the game, Frelia tribe is the only option that you can choose. You can get the information about the tribe by tapping the tribe info button on the selection screen. As an example; Frelia tribe features Stone Golem(Guardian), Hann(Tiger), Arabis(Ifrit). The first three tribes are free. For the rest ones(Ragnarr, Katumba, Ironclad, Amazon), you will have to spend real money. The two free tribes(Hann, Arabis) can be unlocked by completing the achievements. At the top-left corner of the screen, tap the trophy button to see all the achievements.

After choosing the tribe, you have to select the difficulty and the number of opponents. At the start, you can choose trainee. Complete the achievements to unlock new difficulty stages.

How To Play Hexonia Game – The Battle System

The goal is to capture all the enemy cities as soon as possible. Enemy cities are protected by their troops and guardian. You will build the army of troops to strike down those enemy stations. At the start of the game, you have a city and some troops. The player can move the troop units, promote the units, and unlock more units.

⇒Tap the unit that you want to move and then, select a blue tile. If the enemy is in range or on the red tile, you can attack it. All you need to do is tap the tile after selecting the troop unit to make it a target.

⇒In each city, you can train a certain number of troops. The maximum population, a city can handle is displayed in the red bar beside the city. You can increase it by increasing the city level.

Training

⇒In Hexonia game, to train a unit, tap the tile where the city is constructed. Then, choose a unit; Warrior, Archer, Guard, Cannon, Horseman, Knight, Spearman, Swordsman, Bomber, and Admiral. You can unlock new units through the research. The player needs gold to train the unit. You get the gold from each city every turn(if you have multiple cities, you will earn more gold). You can increase the gold reward per turn by raising the city level.

City Level

⇒You can use the resources, buildings, upgrades facility to increase the city level. For example; near the city tile, collect the resources(fruit), tap on an empty field and build something(seaport, guild, farm), upgrade the facilities(i.e. windmill). After a certain level, you will get the guardian.

Promoting Units

⇒You can also promote the units. All you need to do is kill enemies. Tap on any unit that you want to promote -> tap the details button -> at the top of the pop-up, you will see the number of kills required to reach next level. Kill enemies and get promoted.

⇒You can heal the units upon your turn. All you need to do is tap the unit and choose recovery ability option. Each unit can perform one action per turn.

⇒You can end the turn any time. Tap the end turn button at the bottom of the screen.

⇒The player can capture villages(free from enemies) to get more benefit.

⇒At the top of the screen, you can check the points, turns(turn counts), and coins. On the basis of turn counts/points, you will get the ratings(at the end of the game).

The Graphics and Monetization

The graphics of Hexonia game are pretty good. The game’s UI, characters, their attack style, animations, A.I. – everything is decent. Hexonia game does not feature any ad-system. The main source of monetization is through IAP. The player can access the premium tribes by paying a small amount of money.

The Final Verdict

If you love strategy games, then this one is for you. There are lots of strategies involved in the battle system; units movement, defense bonus, road effect, using the unit’s attack, placement of units, and much more. It could be difficult for rookies. But, as soon as you understand the whole basics, it will be fun. Overall, it’s a good strategy game with good graphics, F2P mechanics, and addictive nature gameplay.
