And, it’s always advised to buy the Shikigami based on their skill, stats, type, and position. As a newbie, it’s hard to figure out what character to buy. Onmyoji Chess Shikigami Positions: –

Ninja –

Deploy (3) or (6) Ninjas to increase the critical rate and critical damage(for Ninja Shikigami)

Samurai –

Deploy (3) or (6) or (9) Samurai(s) to increase armor stats and magic resist stats(for Samurai Shikigami)

Mage –

Deploy (3) or (6) or (9) Mage(s) to increase ability damage dealt by all allies and restore 4 MP per second. When you deploy (9), the cooldown of allies’ abilities decreases and 4 MP gets restored

Marksman –

With (3) Marksman, the game activates a bond effect – Marksman Shikigami will have a (30%) chance of hitting (1) additional enemy unit – dealing bonus physical damage
With (6) Marksman on the battlefield, chances to unleash a special attack gets increased(for Marksman Shikigami)

Tank –

(2) tank on the battlefield – chances to gain a (100) shield upon unleashing a basic attack
(4) tank on the battlefield – (150) Shield
(6) tank on the battlefield – (200 Shield

Support –

(3) support on the board – grant bonus armor stats and restores the HP of a random ally
(6) support on the board – AoE healing and armor buff

Wizard –

(3) Wizards on the board – 75 DPS on a random enemy
(6) Wizards on the board – 15 DPS on all enemy Shikigami

Type Bond Effect: –

Relic Soul: –

(2) Relic Soul Shikigami on the board – reduces the armor of all enemy Shikigami by 35
(4) Relic Soul Shikigami – the armor of all enemy units will be decreased by 65

Underworld: –

(3) – restore 100 HP and decrease ability cooldown by 0.5 seconds – when this type of Shikigami are killed
(6) – restore 100 HP and decrease ability cooldown by 2 seconds – when this type of Shikigami are killed

God: –

(2) – AoE buffs – increase all Shikigami attack, restores MP
(4) – 3 Random allies get 100 MP at the start of the battle(MP is required to unleash the skill – with this bond effect, they will be able to cast the skill quickly)

Great Spirit –

(2) – damage dealt by this type of Shikigami gets increased when a Shikigami of a different type joins ally faction

Warrior –

(2) or (4) Warrior type Shikigami on the field activates a bond effect – extra magic damage on the enemy by Warrior type Shikigami

Beast Spirit –

(2) Beast Spirit type Shikigami – Increases attack speed for Beast Spirit Shikigami
(4) – ally allies’ attack speed gets increased

Forest –

(2) or (4) or (6) – Summon companions to assist in the battle

Nature –

Deploy (2) Nature Type Shikigami – 15% chances to reduce enemy’s attack speed for a few seconds when launching the basic attack
(4) Nature Type Shikigami – 20% chance to freeze the target’s abilities
(6) Nature Type Shikigami – 20% chance to freeze the target

Harpy –

(2) Harpy Type Shikigami – Immune to all damage within (3) seconds when receiving basic attacks

Demon –

(3) Demons – Explodes upon death-dealing AoE damage
(6) Demons – Explodes upon death-dealing massive AoE damage

Zombie –

(2) Zombie-Type Shikigami on the battlefield – Zombie Shikigami revives after being killed

When picking or buying the characters in the battle, check their type & position and try to activate these bond effects for extra buffs/damage/shield. If you want to increase firepower, activate the bond effects which increase damage or attack speed. For defensive set-up, activate the bond effects which give shield or armor stats to the allies. Activate supporters’ bond effect for healing & buffs.
