From the developers of LDoE game, Grim Soul: Dark Fantasy Survival is another survival game for Android devices. The game challenges you to survive as long as you can in the dangerous world. The world is full of monsters & zombies and you are there; alone, helpless, thirsty, hungry, and resource-less. You start the journey from a mysterious land and the objective is to stay alive. The Basics – How To Play Grim Soul Game⇓

Since the game does not provide the tutorial to the players and those who have not played games like this before could face problems in figuring out the game’s mechanics. In this part, we have covered the basics that help you in understanding the basics of Grim Soul game.

In Grim Soul game, your objective is to stay alive; you have to maintain three body attributes in order to stay alive for a long time: –

• Health
• Thirst
• Food

You may lose health in fighting against the zombies, monsters or other players. There are a number of ways to restore the health such as level-up, eat food, take first-aid(bandages), honey, and much more.

Thirst – No one can survive without water. In Grim Soul, it’s very easy to obtain water(Read the ultimate guide part below to learn how!).

Food – Without energy, it’s impossible to survive in a dangerous world and food is one of the best resources to charge the character. You can easily gather food items such as berries, leaf, meat from the land(read the ultimate guide part below for more info). Here’s main screen guide: –

In the first event of the game, you will find yourself in an unknown land. That’s your home base where you can build a house using wood, stone or many resources. The very first step you have to do is gather the wood and craft the club weapon and use it to strike down or in killing zombies or deer. To kill the dear, switch to the prone position and then go for the strike.

After killing zombies or deer, it’s time to gather the resources from the land; plant fiber, wood, stone, and more. Once you have enough wood, build a small house. Tap the building icon -> choose the floor, then the wall, and at last, a door. After building the house, build a small chest and put the inventory items there except much-needed items like a weapon, AXE, stone pick, food, water. There is an auto-collection feature too(bottom-left corner), use it to instruct the character to gather the resources automatically.

Take a look at the mini-map(at the bottom-right corner), there you can see the location of chests, enemies, tools or devices. On the same land, there would a dead body with a small bag. Find the bag on the map and interact with it by tapping the hand icon. You can keep the resources or items there too.

Intruders – The Basics

In Grim Soul game, you can visit other players’ base too and loot the resources they have collected. Similarly, they can also visit your base or land and loot the resources you have collected. That’s why you should build a small house first and put the items behind the wall.

You and intruders can break the house’s wall using the bomb or powder charge. But to get these items, you need to reach the level 35 or you can find these items in dungeons or loot.

In this part, we will learn about the crafting, building, upgrading, global map, tools or devices, riding the horse, leveling up, how to get food, water & restore health, and much more. Make sure to read everything.

• How To Get Food & Water

Water: – Building a well is the permanent source of water. You will be able to craft or build it once you reach the level 15. But how to get it if you are below level 15? It’s very easy. The game rewards you honey or water daily for free in the storage in a barrel or flask respectively. Tap the shop icon(see the first picture) -> on the next screen, at the bottom-left corner, tap the storage option and there you can see the rewards.

Food: – For the initial phase, you can destroy the hunger of the character by collecting and eating berries. Or build the garden bed and put the seeds(drag & drop) in the material slot. Or kill the animals such as wolf, deer, bear and grab the meat.

• Crafting, Leveling-Up, Points

For each activity, you perform in Grim Soul game (i.e. gathering the resources, killing the zombies), you earn Experience points. At the left side of the screen, you can check the EXP Bar. Gain XP and fill the gauge to its maximum point to level up.

One of the best ways to level up fast in Grim Soul game is killing the enemies; animals, zombies, monsters. And as a level up reward, you get crafting points and access to new items. Crafting points are needed to learn a specific item. As you level up, you will be able to build more items.

• Building and Upgrading

You should build a small house as fast as possible. But it can be destroyed by the intruder using a powder charge or bomb. It would be better to upgrade the walls, floors & doors to avoid being looted by the intruders. All you need to do is tap the building button -> tap the floor/wall/door of the house -> hit the upgrade button.

• Tools or Devices

As mentioned above, as you level up, you get access to new items. In Grim Soul game, the player can build a wide range of tools or devices to make the life easy and prosperous;

1. Smelter for smelting ores or metals
2. Carpenter’s Bench – To get planks
3. Stone-Working Bench – To get stone blocks
4. Stable – To get a horse in Grim Soul and make the traveling easier by riding
5. Campfire – Cook tasty food items using raw material
6. Well – For water(put the empty flask of water)
7. Chests – To store items
8. Tanning Rack – Make ropes, craft leather
9. Sewing Table – For cloths
10. Cart – Helps you in traveling
11. Workbench – Make Nails
12. Sanctuary – Allows you to join a clan
13. Grindstone – Enhance the weapons here
14. Herbalist’s Table – Make Spirits

To build these tools or devices, you need to explore the lands, dungeons, players’ base and gather the resources required in building these items. Keep in mind that some resources are very rare and you hardly get from lands; you may need to enter the dungeon for these items or from the loot areas/events. And to enter the dungeon, you need dungeon key. The dungeon key is also one of the rare items. And there is no exact location of it. You may find it in zones, in loot, from the chest, by killing the gatekeeper.

In Grim Soul, use the ranged weapon to defeat or kill the gatekeeper as it is so slow. On the other hand, if you use the melee weapon, then you may not be able to defeat it as its damage power is very high. And to get access to these locations; gatekeeper’s hut, dungeons, you need to find the map first. These additional maps are required to see these locations on the map; you can obtain these maps in Grim Soul from the zones/lands, events or players’ base.

• Grim Soul – Night Cache, Night Guest Guide

Night Cache – It contains rare or precious items and can be found in the dungeon only. Night Guest – Night Guest in Grim Soul game is your enemy who appears in the night. Since she appears in the night only or afraid of light, always carry a torch in your hand when traveling in the night. Or go inside the house. You can craft the torch from the crafting menu.

#1.) Check The Storage Daily For Honey, Water

Grim Soul game rewards you these items daily in the storage. Make sure to take all the items daily as these items last for a short time. Read the guide above to know how to get water, food, and restore the health.

#2.) Pay Attention To The Letters

In Grim Soul game, you get quests from these letters. Tap the designs button(hammer icon-main screen) -> on the next screen, on the bottom-left side, tap the letters icon. There you can see the letters and scrolls. In the letters tab, you get quests. Read the quest, complete them and earn precious rewards. For the first time, it would be; building a raven cage. Using this device, you can contact with merchants.

#3.) Cloths Are Not For Fashion Only

Cloths or items like the cap, shirt, gloves, trousers increases the defense power of the character. Once you reach the level 11, you will be able to craft these items. Equip them to increase the defense. You can also obtain these items from the events, players’ base, chests.

#4.) Grab The Loot Chance By Visiting Event Areas

You may get valuable items from the event’s location. When you head to the global map, the game will show you the location of that event(crows circle above the wasteland, this means you should go there…). Visit that location and grab the precious items.

#5.) Always Carry Essential Items

When visiting a dangerous area, make sure to carry essential items such as enough wood or stone to craft weapon(or a full-durable weapon), food or honey, AXE/Stone Pick to gather wood or stone. The number of skulls above the zone determines the danger level.

#6.) Increase The Inventory Souls

At the beginning of the game, In Grim Soul game, you have only 10 free slots. And it means you can not collect more than 11 items. You can increase the number of inventory slots by crafting ragged sack or leather pack.

#7.) Keep Looting and Gathering

It’s normal that you will face a lot of problems in gathering the resources, don’t give up. Keep looting other players’ base or gathering the resources from the zones. #8.) Add Traps or Stakes To Save House

As you know, intruders can break the house’s wall using bombs. One of the best ways to keep the enemies away from your house is by planting stakes(level 19) or traps(level 35) near the walls.

How To Reset Grim Soul Game’s Progress?

• Go to the game settings
