Kongregate recently released TMNT Mutant Madness game for Android & iOS platforms, available to download for free from Google Play Store and iOS App Store. The game offers classic Idle gacha RPG mechanics with Lair building and management mechanics. If you are new to it, then you have come to the right page. First things first – the game is packed with PvE, PvP, and Clan battles like game modes. At first, you will get to play the PvE campaign mode where you complete the stages. After completing certain missions/stages, you will unlock new room/buildings in Lair that give you access to other game modes. For example – Portal Room unlocks at stage 6-10. And, it unlocks the Dimension Clash feature where you battle other players for rewards. At 6-15 mission, you will unlock the clan hall that gives you access to clan function; join other players, or create a clan to invite them. Getting Heroes In TMNT Mutant Madness
In TMNT Mutant Madness, you need “Hero Bits” to get the heroes. Hero Bit is an in-game currency that you produce in lab rooms(Research Lab, Advance Lab) – in the lair menu of the game. Other than the production, you get Hero Bits by completing the quests and missions. Hero-Bits are of many types; 2-star hero bits, 3-star hero bits, 4-star hero bits.
With 2-star hero bits, you can get a 2-star hero. With 3-star hero bits, you can get a 3-star hero. And, with 4-star hero bits, you can acquire a 4-star hero.
Head to the “heroes” menu/journal menu -> tap “get more heroes” button -> on the next screen, you will be able to select the hero-drive(2-star, 3-star, and 4-star). Spend the hero bits or “gems” to get heroes.
Know The Roles Of Heroes
Each hero character in TMNT Mutant Madness has a specific role that defines its main strength. Let’s take a look at the role guide: –
- Tank – tank-role heroes have high survivability and can protect allies with the skills
- Brawler – (close-ranged) melee damage dealer
- Blaster – (long-ranged ranged damage dealer
- Support – Support team members with the skills; healing, buffs, etc.
- Trickster – heroes with crowd control abilities; they can make enemies weak by applying debuffs
- Skirmisher – heroes with high mobility stats
Head to heroes -> tap on the hero portrait -> on the left-center, tap on the “roles” icon to get more details.
Guide To Build The Best Team In TMNT Mutant Madness
We recommend having a balanced set of the squad(offense and defense); you have five slots for the heroes; x1 supporter, x1 tank, x2 damage dealers, x1 trickster, or x3 damage dealers. Best team recommendation: –
- Boxter – trickster, damage dealer
- Raphael – tank
- Leonardo – tank, and supporter
- Bebop – damage dealer; AoE, massive damage
- Rocksteady – self-buff, damage dealer
If you want more defense, you can add more tank-role heroes and reduce damage dealers. For more firepower, add more DPS-role heroes.

Power-Up Heroes In TMNT Mutant Madness
If you are failing on a stage, try adjusting the formation; bring more defensive role heroes or damage dealers or tricksters. If you still fail, it would be better to power your heroes up. Go to heroes -> hero -> train. It will cost “Ooze” to power-up heroes. The ooze can be obtained from missions, quests, or Lair production.
Go to the equipment tab under the hero profile page -> equip the gears. You can get gears as you continue to progress in campaign missions.
Lair – Rooms & Upgrades
Navigate to Lair -> there you will find rooms and lab that you can upgrade with scraps. Each room has a function – for example – Ooze refinery produces Ooze(use it to level up heroes), Scrap Collector – produces scrap, Research Lab – produces 2-star hero crystals/bits, Portal Room – unlocks dimension clash (battle other players, PvP), Clan hall – join or create, Advanced Lab – produces 3-star hero bits/crystals, Dojo – increases the hero power. Workshop – produces mod parts. HQ – access to the lair.
Complete The Quests For Rewards
On the “Adventure” tab of the game, at the top-center, you will see the missions to complete for rewards like hero crystals, scraps, ooze, gems, etc.
Compete In Event For Rewards
Navigate to “Events” -> tap on the event -> check the event details; complete the event tasks to earn score points and rank up on the leaderboards for the higher rewards. At the end of the season, based on the rank, you will get the rewards; gems, hero bits, scraps, ooze, and more.
Activate The Boosters In TMNT Mutant Madness
In the upper-right corner, tap the TV -> watch a video ad and activate the booster.
